Yes we came here in April. Not the height of the beach season. We were there for the hobby of rock and glass collecting. We found plenty of each as well as driftwood which we will craft into something fabulous. Will come back here in the future. Lots of beach to walk. Plenty of parking and places to explore.

Wanted to be outside after a day of visiting schools etc. It was a very large beach, supposedly the largest in OH. It must have been a tough winter as there was a large amount of debris on beach, but it was beautiful. Very disappointed that all signs said not pets on beach in off season to me seems unreasonable.

this is a great place to take a walk and experience lake erie's wildlife and be with other people. When we were there in the fall, it was not crowded at all even though the weather was lovely.

Headlands beach is one of the best places to spend a day at the beach, have a picnic, take a walk on the beach, and enjoy the awesome sunsets. Should be a must visit in any weather.

In recent years this beach has gone down hill. If you have small children, it's quite a walk to the waters edge. Lots of rocks and pebbles along the shore and in the water. We experienced some dead fish and even a dog sized dead animal on the beach. The restrooms don't have soap or even toilet paper at times... More

As a kid, I spent many, many happy days at 'Headlands', the best beach on the Lake Erie shore. The beach has plenty of parking, bathroom facilities and trails to walk if you want to get out of the sun. The beach is clean and has volleyball nets available if you want to pretend you're Olympian Kerrie Walsh. Nice place... More

Most people associate this park with summer and swimming.... but it can also be a good spot for an off-season walk. No, there aren't any hills, but if you like strolling along the shore (yes, there's all the flotsam and jetsam that the lake throws up) this can be an enjoyable spot. Since there are very few cars around, you... More

Headlands beach is a great resource that is easily accessible from route 44. Open year round with many opportunities to view wildlife or just sun on the beach. There is also a .6 mile asphalt path that runs parallel to the beach. Pets welcome on the path but not on the beach. Restrooms are available.

excellent beach with views of the old light house, during July the city holds a beach fest, that includes will know sand sculptures competing for number one, than in August there are Off Shore races, I don't mean the small boats but rather the ocean race boats with speeds hitting almost 200mph
