The nature center open weekend hours has great children's displays and very informative staff that explains the natural history of the area through aerial photos. There are a few hikes in the area and the boardwalk is worth the visit. Especially good place for birdwatchers. We did the ranger guided hike and the ranger was especially good with children leading... More

Nice area for birding or just enjoying nature. Canoe access, fishing, etc. Have only been herein the springtime so not sure what the rest of the year has to offer.

I have 3 boys under the age of 5. We love getting outside and exploring new parks and places. Even though we've lived in Mentor for awhile, I just recently learned that there were marsh area trails and even guided walking hikes. This past Mother's Day I decided to check one out and I was hooked. I walked around the... More

Went to hopefully get a glimpse of the nesting eagles but didn't see them. It will be nice if the park gets rid of the phragmites in the water and returns the marsh to it's old glory. Interesting to see the area where the stalks have been harvested for biomass burning.

The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic about the marsh. I highly recommend visiting this nature center, walking the trails, and learning something new about this area!

The Mentor Marsh is a great place if you want to walk into nature. If you start at the Sweet's house, there is a map on a board showing the different trails maintained by not only the Cleveland Natural History Museum but also, Mentor City and ODNR. There is a trail near the house which has two paths, one is... More

I am not sure how to explain this place, its an old house filled with very old nature items and a very small walking path that goes nowhere. People tend to flock to check it out but I have not found it to be worth it.

It was the off season for bird watching. I was disappointed we didn't see more birds. We did see a young deer in the meadow. Wear insect repellant. The mosquitos are biting.

You may have to use your GPS or a map to get to but this vest pocket nature center but it is well worth the visit. In spring and fall the marsh is especially interesting. This is a good place to bring your camera.
