The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway is a 501c3 non-profit organization operated entirely by volunteer members. It operates historic train rides from Nelsonville, Ohio, a close drive to the Hocking Hills. The track was originally built in 1869 and the HVSR has been providing family-friendly train rides since 1972. In addition to weekend trains between May and October, there are several theme trains including Easter Bunny Train, Robbery Train, All-Caboose Train, October Fall Foliage, Santa Trains, and New Year's Eve Train.

had a great family day out with 12 family members ages 3 to 8 grandchildren and 6 adults we all have a fun day and staff were very pleasant and helpful . would recommend a visit for all ages

This was a horrible experience, the train broke, we were the only ones on the train of African American decent. Only one person spoke, the egg hunt was a joke, never again.More

Wow! We feel that this review is very unfair. Our train did not breakdown, we were late leaving our depot because of late arriving passengers who we waited for. As far as ethnic passengers, we of course have no bias toward who rides our trains,...More

Liked the vintage train. We did not like the Santa Train. We only saw Santa once. He stopped at each seat and asked the children what they wanted, which lasted about 1 minute. Otherwise, there was nothing fun for kids. My 7 year old grandson...More

No bathrooms on the train. but half way they stop and there restrooms there. The ride is about 1 and 1/2 hours.
