If you like trains, stop here

Kind of hidden out of the way in southern Medina County. Tons of old train engines and cars to look at. Very interesting place.

Must visit. We were impressed with it. We will visit again for sure. Highly recommend it. Very close to super 8 in Seville.

The lovely location and "open air" exhibits make this a perfect destination for a day-trip. Also, the delightful train buffs who were available to answer questions certainly enhanced our visit. These "docents," many of whom were older gents, displayed great enthusiasm for trains as they lovingly described each one in great detail. They patiently answered all questions, and their comments... The Northern Ohio Railway Museum (it uses the acronym "NORM") is an unusual attraction in Seville, Ohio, about 45 minutes southwest of Cleveland and maybe 30 minutes west of Akron. It's only about 5 minutes or so from I-71. Check the hours ahead of time, and put 5515 Buffham Road, Seville, Ohio into your GPS device. The attraction itself is... More

Being in our 60's and early 70's, we all had memories of streetcars. They had an introductory video of old films of streetcars. Of course, there were a lot of other items in the films that drew us back to our younger days. We were taken on a guided tour by a very knowledgeable man who actually helps with the... More

My grandsons and I attended a small group tour. Our tour was led by Brian, who was very knowledgeable regarding any railroad question that was asked of him. This is a very interesting place to visit and we enjoyed it much. I will be visiting again soon and suggesting it to others. It is 100% free, although they do have... More

The railroad museum was more than I expected. An enthusiastic and knowledgeable person gave me a tour around the museum. I joined a small group tour already in progress. It has several old railroad cars awaiting restoration and some under cover that are restored. In addition there is a display of railroad related artifacts. Once the tour is over you... More

This isn't the kind of museum where you walk around in a temperature controlled environment and look at displays behind glass that you can't touch or get close to. This is a working museum where you are walking through the spaces where dedicated volunteers are are wrenching away on history. If you like the smell of axle grease, old wood... More
