All I can say is take a day and visit. You won't be disappointed. Better than San Diego by far. Voted number one zoo and number one for holiday lighting. Open year round too.

What an awesome place to be to see a beautiful display of thousands of lights. The lights form figures, outline trees and "dance " to music. It is beautiful in the snow or just when it's cold. Lots of places to get hot chocolate or...More

We have one of the best zoos in the country. Great exhibits. Constantly growing. It is fun any time of the year. They also have concerts by major performers throughout the summer and fall.

Very nice for a small zoo- clean - did not have some of the larger animals I would have liked to have seen - very family oriented

Unlike Detroit zoo, you can actually find animals and you will not have to look too far, they will be somewhat close to you, so your little one can find them and identify them easily. Polar bears are lovely, there is a sloth, a koala...More

It is truly up to the weather for certain animals but the new aquarium is always worth the visit.

Depends on the weather. Not as busy then in summer or warmer weather. Light before Christmas starts nov 17, 2017 thru dec 31. It is a great time to grab a cup of hot coco and walk around the zoo.
