Been there a lot for camping and hiking. Great trails. Some fishing. Picnic areas, some with shelter houses.

Start at the Duck Lake area. Playground, window on wildlife, meeting rooms, and the starting point for easy walking trails of varying length. OOP also has a campground, bridle trails and the north fork of the Wabash Cannonball hiking/biking trail runs through it.

We moved near the park a few years ago, it wasn't a deciding factor but what a added bonus, we frequent the park, both for biking and walking. Also enjoyed the primitive camping sites

I've gone to Oak Openings my whole life. It's one of the most peaceful places I know. The areas vary so much. Good well marked hiking trails of varied lengths. Now my Grandsons are going.

This is one of the nicest parks in the area, especially for cyclist. Lots of miles of trail, with beautiful scenery and water. Its a drive for us, but well worth it.

This truly is a great park. Many trails and beautiful scenery. I especially loved the sand dunes. While the bathrooms weren't particularly clean, everything else was awesome. I'd recommend spending a day or two here.

Oak Openings is the largest Toledo metro park and offers something for everyone, even sand dunes. My only complaint is that there are very few directional signs to get to the park, and some of the trails are not very well marked. There are posts showing what king of traffic is allowed- foot/horse/bike etc but no trail names or symbols,... More

This is my second review for Oak Openings Metro Park. I wanted to include a photo that I took showing how beautiful the area around Mallard Lake is. Photo taken on November 1st, around 80 degs, just fantastic.

Oak Openings has become a favorite place to visit with my family. My extended family enjoys having a large picnic near Mallard Lake. We start with breakfast and stay through lunch and into the afternoon. We typically have some people fishing, while others are biking, walking, birding or just playing. Usually a group goes on a walk out to the... More
