Clifton Gorge is so beautiful. We park at the John Bryan State Park and hike over to Clifton Gorge. It is hard to believe this is by Dayton. The trails are cleared. I suggest printing a map before going for your first time.
There are several trail heads that eventually go into the nature preserve since Clifton Forge is co-located to another park. Great views of the gorge with markers along the way to tell the visitor about historical spots.

Very pretty views everywhere. We took the lower trail this time and got close to the moving water - very relaxing. The only downside is that the trail was treacherous so must have the right hiking shoes/sneakers, lots of jagged rocks you have to walk...More
We all really enjoyed the hike. It was beautiful and not crowded. We had perfect weather and we did not even need to take our water bottles with us but needed when we got back to the car.
