This museum has a lot of artifacts from the Land Rush. It was very Informative and well displayed. My uncle inquired about a Jesse James wanted poster and we were treated to a glimpse through an old book full of wanted posters of the era. This museum is also connected to a Carnegie Library which is a beautiful specimen of... More

We didn't plan to go through the museum, just wanted to get some information for walking around the town. Mike, however, started telling us about Oklahoma history and Guthrie. Oklahoma has quite an interesting history. The 1902 Carnegie Library is next door. I really encourage people to stop here before seeing the other buildings in town dating from 1890.

We were just driving around Guthrie reading historical plaques and saw this museum. Read a few of the exterior informational postings and decided to go inside. We were surprised and pleased to see the enormous amount of historical information regarding the city, community, and state. We plan to revisit this museum again; it was difficult to digest the pleather of... More

Very well done! My husband got to visit with the director and a man "in period dress and character." Was a treat for him.

Nice little gem we found from seeing a sign on the highway. Good mix of reading and artifacts here. Helped to explain the land rush in Ok. Carnegie library building was interesting to see from an architectural standpoint.

This is an interesting museum, but there just isn't very much here that you couldn't simply read in a book. The museum doesn't do a great job of engaging the visitor, aside from the interesting library section, and really is mostly panels or items behind glass. This wouldn't be such an issue if the museum was also well lit, but... More

We were just having a road trip and decided to visit this museum at the spur of the moment. We were very glad we did! There were lots of things to see and learn about and even the old Carnegie library to rummage through. We enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this to anyone!
