You can enter the river trail throughout the length. My favorites are by Sawyer Park where the trail goes up Awbrey Butte where there are amazing views of the river below and the Cascades. The Old Mill has several spots to connect with the trail....More

The Deschutes River Trail goes through very beautiful surroundings. We passed lots of other hikers (many with their dogs) as well as parents with strollers. If you visit Bend, the trail is a must!

There are a ton of segments of the River Trail - we started at Farewell Bend Park, went South until you’re forced to cross the bridge and then back - a little over 3 miles round trip. The path for this part starts as paved,...More

While in Bend we walked (hiked) the trail. Very nice scenery. Enjoyed the ducks and geese in the water. Did not have time to kayak, but those who were kayaking seemed to be enjoying themselves very much

This trail is great for walking or running. It is dry and dusty in the summer when we visit, so wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. The river is beautiful.

Went here for a quick walk/hike with friends and our two dogs. There were so many friendly dogs running around, friendly people, and wonderful river views everywhere you look. There were even some small, shallow areas that the dogs could hop in without floating away!

One of the cities best amenities are the park and rec trails and activities offered for all ages. Bring the dog and a raft and a book or a picnic - you will love all parts of the trail and the unmatched views.
