Traveling with friends, we decided to take in the Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. Certainly we've all seen water falls before, as advertised, this one has a path to the top providing a bit of exercise. The falls are in two stages, the...More

Multnomah Falls is the centerpiece of a beautiful, multi-stop drive along the Historic Columbia River Gorge highway east of Portland. There are several waterfalls and hiking trails, all beautiful and peaceful. Parking is limited, so go early or be patient.

I thought I would be more impressed, but no I wasn't. The day before, we had drove over too late in the day to miss the throngs of tourists, traffic and most importantly, getting a parking spot. So, the following day, we got there at...More

Don't go! It's not worth it! But when you do go, because you probably will not be able to resist, go VERY early on a rainy day in February because that's the only time it won't be busy. People who say it gets busy are...More

In the Carolinas, we do not have waterfalls the height of Multnomah Falls. Everything about this fall was awesome. I love the surrounding scenery, the gift shop, the smell of fresh water, the sound of the water falling. I was excited to be there.
