This is a tough one. Rudy F has provided good suggestions, but I am torn if you plan on heading north along the Oregon coast since there are quite a few places that are worth experiencing. So what I am thinking choose something like Rudy F suggested but don't spend a whole day just doing stops and hikes in Boardman SP. Here are some other places worth considering: Sunset Bay SP near Coos Bay, especially if there is at least moderate surf - the waves crashing there are spectacular; Haceta Head lighthouse north of Florence; Sea Lion Caves near Florence if you feel like spending some money for admission - otherwise stop in Newport and observe tons of sea lions in the harbor area ... for free; Devils Churn; Cape Perpetua; Cape Foulweather; tour the Tillamook Cheese factory in Tillamook ... free samples!. There are a bunch of other scenic areas/parks, many of which are like those I suggested above that require less than an hour or maybe an hour or two to take in. If you want to stop and really explore an area, Boardman SP is fine, and you could spend a day there - we did and enjoyed the various spots within the park. But if you want more variety you could consider my suggestion of a little here and a little there along the coast. One other thing, it is often only in the 60's and windy along the coast - jackets might be welcome. It is not built up along the coast so don't expect high rise condos and big fancy restaurants. Some of the hole in the wall restaurants are the best. Enjoy !
