My husband and I love visiting this area on off days, escaping from our busy lives. It's not as touristy, and we usually pick non peak days.

If you choose one hike to do in the Cannon Beach area, this is my first choice. I like it better than Ecola State Park. First, there is no parking fee (although I can see the lot filling up quickly). We've always arrived early in...More

All sorts of wonderful trails for hiking. Some might be more difficult for some people, but there are easy hikes down to Short Sands beach.

We had no problem parking on a rainy Friday morning in February. We put on our rainsuits and took the trail to Falcon Cove viewpoint. The tall trees sheltered us from the rain for the most part, but there were several large mud puddles to...More

Love it here! It is a sheltered cove with restrooms available. Be aware that the parking lots get crowded so go early for the best parking.

The trip there is the best part. Your walk takes you through a rainforest with old growth timber. Several trail options. You end up at the ocean. There are restrooms there. Some people were surfing and others like us were just looking. Beautiful

Park in the large parking lot right off of 101. Stroll through the forest to a beautiful beach. Many surfers were out when we there, It made for an interesting time. Lovely walk, gorgeous beach. Stop and see it!

In dry conditions a good athletic shoe should be fine; if wet, I would recommend hiking boots. Also dress in layers as temps vary along the trails and be sure to bring drinking water for each hiker.

Yes, there is a wide asphalt gradual pathway that goes to the beach. You access this trail from the parking lot on the east side of 101

Just google transportation from Portland to Cannon Beach. There are some bus lines that go there regularly. Once there you would still need to get to the park, ( 15 -20 min. down the coast ). The Cannon Beach Chamber might... More
