While in town go take this walk

Small boardwalk compared to say Atlantic City but this is Coos Bay and very well done it is. I love the wooden milled floor map and the different type of woods grown in the area... read more

All it is is a boardwalk that needs some cleaning up. It used to have lights that lit up certain areas in the pavilion to point out cities but all the lights are burnt out. Not a lot to look at.

There's a covered pavilion if its raining. Informative and interesting maps and local information is available. The Tourist Office is just across the street.

Small boardwalk compared to say Atlantic City but this is Coos Bay and very well done it is. I love the wooden milled floor map and the different type of woods grown in the area shown at one of the covered areas. The photo historical plaques are very simple but really informative. Who knew there was coal mining out here?... More

A nice improvement by the city off Hwy 101 at the foot of the downtown of Coos Bay. Good historical ship to the bay.

Booked a hotel nearby partially due to the cool sounding boardwalk being across the street. I was surprised to see no shops, restaurants or vendors of any kind. A few pictures describing the history of the waterfront, an old boat and a few homeless people were all the attractions there. A great time was Not had by all.

We enjoyed taking the dog here from our hotel and seeing all the boats and water activities. Very friendly people along the walk with kayaking and paddle boards. Lots to see and do.

The board walk is part of a large upgrade to go for 5 miles. It offers a wonderful walk as is, and a great place to take guests to the area.

If you are interested in Oregon's forests and forest industries, spend a few minutes here. The beams that support the roof are samples of the several different kinds of trees that have been important in the Coos Bay timber industry -- spruce, Douglas fir, cedar, etc. Plaques tell you a little bit about each species, and the role it plays... Nice little walk with a large boat to check out. Easy parking and a chance to check out downtown. Would be a nice first stop if just coming into town. The visitor center is right there.
