Visited Vista House on the way to the Gorge and Waterfalls on our half day tour. A most surprising building, which we are led to believe was a rest stop for early motorists visiting the area. Beautifully restored (ask to see the hidden elevator) and...More

An iconic spot and view along the Columbia River Gorge. On the historic scenic highway. Fabulous views into the distance. The house was built as a good bathroom break for early 20th century travelers but is uber nice for such a purpose. Marbled decor everywhere....More

The view is incredible and well worth the drive. The structure is beautiful and extremely inviting, our children had fun and also enjoyed the gift shop in the lowest level.

Vista house is the first stop on the Columbia gorge highway. Great views of the Columbia river and valley. The visitors center is great with very helpful volunteers. Nice gift shop and small cafe.

The views were very nice, and the building is unbelievably elaborate. Good stop though. It's very busy and hard to park.

This place gives a wonderful view of the river. We went in August of 2012 and the weather was absolutely beautiful!

This is not a road to be afraid of. It curves gently as it elevates. Go slowly and enjoy the view.
