My first visit to John Dellenback Dunes Trail beach was not disappointing. What is nice about this beach is that on most days the beach has few visitors. I saw very little drift wood or shells. :( On the other hand I saw no litter...More

Most of the fun was the hike to the beach. The beach was not superior to the rest of the rugged coastal views we had seen already. The hike was fun and I’d do it again on another coastal trip.

Were only ones on the trail in late May. Got to end and had a huge beach along the Pacific ocean to ourselves. Saw sea lions in the waves. Dunes were incredible and a must see.

1 hour loop was well marked, and mostly escapes the vehicular noise. 4-6 hours roundtrip to reach the beach.

This was a fun thing to do. I believe that it was a little over a half mile, one way, from the parking lot to the beach. There is plenty of parking available. Walking in the sand is a little tricky. At times, your feet...More
