Great Evening Walk

Great resource in FG, and to boot is is a water reclamation project from the municipal services! Love to go on quiet walks here!

A very wonderful place to stroll and see the splendor of nature and wildlife. Bald Eagles, Egrets, Blue Herons, Ducks and hundreds of Geese. Quiet, peaceful and calming. Wonderful place to take children to experience the many animals and plants along the way

I took my 5 year old to this place. We had such a lovely time. Spent probably 3 hours here, walking around. The place was nearly empty when we went. It was serene and calm. We even got to see a blue heron! Wonderful experience. If you enjoy nature walks you'll love this.

Love visiting and taking walks around here. The water does get high when it's raining. There are also Eagle Scout projects that have helped with keeping your feet dry while walking the trails.

I have been coming here for many years. Some years ago the City of Forest Grove got a grant to improve the trails and the wetlands to attract birds and ecotourists. The work is in its final phases. Every time we go here it's a delight... just far enough from traffic that one can hear the bird songs. Sometimes there... More

Very impressed with this lovely wildlife refuge just outside downtown Forest Grove. We were visiting friends who had recently moved to the area and it was there first trip there as well. They were similarly impressed. Terrific eco-friendly facility; lots of trails, ponds, viewing areas, covered picnic area & washrooms. Great place to see and photograph birds. Will definitely visit... Fernhill wetlands has become my favourite place for wildlife viewing! It features 2 very nice, ADA accessible viewing shelters which allows you to see the animals close enough without scare them away. The water is so clear and stunning and the garden is also beautiful. Even if you are not a birder, this place would be a gorgeous place for... More

Was there three years ago, but not much to see then. Invited on a bird watching trip by a friend this past Sunday and it is a totally different place now! The admission and parking is free, there are restrooms available. Saw hummingbirds almost within arm's reach, lots of warblers, a Great Horned Owl (magnificent!), pipers, ducks, heron, was told... One usually doesn't relish a nice stroll down by the water treatment plant. But in Forest Grove, wetlands and a serene nature walk have been created near the facility. There are wide, gravel paths where can walk and see you can see frogs, herons, and other wildlife. A great place for an afternoon family outing.
