Have watched the de-evolution of this boat wreckage over the years, cool. If you want to see it before it completes disintegrates get there sooner than later. The cabin has caved in.

Not sure what I'm supposed to say, everyone else already has said it. It's sad the boat just sits to rot.

We were amazed at the shipwreck but saddened to learn that feeble attempts to resurrect the ship actually destroyed it. Leave things alone people! Apparently 20 or so years ago, it was looking far better. You are able to go right up to it though to take pictures and see it all.

Saw this on the way to eat at the Porthole Cafe and knew we had to finish eating before it got too dark to take pictures, and we did. It is even more derelict than the review picture shows and is in bad shape but still hanging in there.

The Mary D Hume story is some very interesting history about the Oregon coast and its voyages to Alaska. There is much more to read about if you do a little bit of research. One thing that you should know is that there is no way to preserve her and she is fading fast. Each year the water takes a... More

I took a picture of it and told my wife we were buying it to move in! LOL It sits in the Rogue River near the bridge at Gold Beach.

Always have enjoyed seeing this ship. I've taken many photos and loved the history. Worth pulling and learning about it!

The picture does not represent its current state of decay It use to look interesting now just looks like trailer park trash An ugly sight next to a beautiful bridge. Come on Gold beach clean it up it is an eyesore not an attraction replace it with a less ugly example of your coastal history

Originally built in Gold Beach, and well over 100 years old, with a storied career from tug to whaler, she is slowly gong away.

This is just one of many odd and unique roadside attractions along the Oregon Coast. This tugboat sunk at its moorings years ago. It is slowly decaying. It might be worth a quick 5-minute stop to get a photo. It is located on the north end of Gold Beach just after you cross the Rogue River Bridge.
