Thank you for reviewing. For folks who want to see the collection in operation, visit on a Second Saturday. On these event days we open up the building and take a handful of things out to operate. It is always a treat to see living history in action. More

This museum offers far more than just automobiles and airplanes. If it is collectible, it is found here. Toys, guns, telephones, uniforms, and almost everything created for modern society. We could not finish seeing all of the rooms containing items. I highly recommend, if you have the time, to visit this museum. I am sure that you will find something... More

Thank you for the review. WAAAM's 3.5 acres of display space packs in all kinds of transportation history. Naturally there are airplanes, automobiles, and motorcycles in the collection (over 325 of them) but there are also many supporting items related to them. This spans everything from "road toys" to road safety equipment and more. There is something for everyone to... More

I am amazed at the collection of aircraft and automobiles. One Saturday a month they drive and fly. There is too much to see in a day, and they are adding another building. In September, weekend after Labor Day, they have a large fly-in festival event.

Thank you for reviewing. We have a number of activities that go on during the year where you can see the living history collection in operation. These events include the Second Saturday of every month, our car show in July, and the Annual Hood River Fly-in the weekend after Labor Day. As of 2017 our indoor display area is just... More

Bigger then we expected. Kids enjoyed it! We went here on our trip we took from Idaho. We went to the Polar express train and then to this museum. Kids met the "Grinch" as well since we went in Decemeber.

Thanks for the review. Part of our 3.5 acres of indoor display space include an interactive learning zone where kids can engage in hands-on activities with this specific part of the collection. For other interactive fun, visit during a Second Saturday when we fly and drive the collection. More

This was kinda an impulse thing and we were there close to closing time. We didn't know it was so huge. There are like 4 different hangar areas but it's more than just planes. It has airplanes, autos, motorcycles, scooters, bikes, jeeps and tractors. There is also typewriters, sewing machines, fishing lures, hand guns and rifles. There is absolutely too... More

Thank you for reviewing. Museum entry tickets are good for the entire day so we often have visitors arrive early to enjoy the museum and then pick a fun spot in town for lunch and then return in the afternoon to finish their museum visit. This can help enable folks to see everything we have to offer in our 3.5... More

We visited the WAAM museum with family, including three kids. Every one of us was wowed by the size of the collection. They have antique and classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, airplanes. The kids enjoyed looking at the antique toys displayed along one wall and investigating the special kids play area. The lady volunteering at the entrance was a fountain of... More

The Western Antique Aeroplan & Automobile Museum, WAAAM, is a very interesting and worthwhile stop in Hood River OR. A little out of the way next to the airport, but definitely worth it

Thank you for reviewing. WAAAM is located 3 miles from down town. Because we have a living history collection we are located at the airport so there is plenty of space for our cars to drive and our airplanes can fly about town too. More

This is a very fascinating museum. The have one of the greatest collections of antique automobiles and motorcycles. I went during the annual Fly-in event they host every September. It was so much fun. So many models of small aircraft fly in for the annual weekend event. They offered rides in three varieties: helicopter, biplane, or Cessna. We rode on... More

Thank you for the review. The Annual Hood River Fly-in happens the weekend after Labor Day every year. In 2017 the Annual Hood River Fly-in happens at the same time as WAAAM's 10 year anniversary so expect it to be extra... More

Thank you for the review. WAAAM is housed in just over 3.5 acres of indoor display space. The average visitor spends at least 2 hours enjoying the collection.
