Having always heard about the Columbia River Gorge, this summer we had the opportunity finally to drive it. It was indeed beautiful. We had some wet weather, but that didn't stop the fun or obscure the beauty. We had brought raingear, and still enjoyed hiking...More

Both I-84 in Oregon and Hwy 14 in Washington are great roads to see the gorge. I-84 is a four lane highway with freeway speeds. Hwy 14 is a two lane road more rural and speeds are slower, but the views on both roads are...More

If you've never been you need to go. The sheer size of the gorge is impressive, but the addition of fog, colors, waterfalls, bends in the river . . . make it a truly beautiful place. Took some people from Louisiana and they had their...More

We did a half day tour but it was unfortunately raining quite heavily and very foggy. So while we loved what we saw and would definitely recommend visiting it, we wish we’d been able to see more and do more exploring. The drive was nice...More

Very scenic, but very rude, stuck up people. The shops & restaurants are very over priced. I don't know why they have to over charge people. There are so many other beautiful places to go, we will never return.

The trip up the Columbia is a learning experience, both in terms of US history as well as in terms of geologic history. This is not the Grand Canyon or anything close, but it has its own majesty and story to tel..

The gorge is, end to end, one of the most amazing places in North America. Separating Oregon and Washington by the Columbia River, there are (or were) more awesome hiking trails to more scenic vistas, including more waterfalls than they've counted so far, than most...More

Even after the wild fire this fall, the Gorge is still beautiful. The fall leaves of orange, yellow & red certainly help make up for some of the scorched areas. We were happy to see the stunning views were nearly the same.

Words fail me! Just continuous beautiful vistas. We stayed in two different hotels overlooking the Gorge and vistas were beyond description. My first trip to Oregon but hopefully not my last. View from Westcliffe Lodge in Hood River

I would suggest driving to Cascade Locks and crossing at the Bridge of the gods. Head west for 5 minutes or so and stop at Beacon Rock. Take the hike to the top of the rock. It's about a 30-45 minute hike up the side of... More
