We returned for a repeat visit to the Columbia River Gorge on the Friday before Memorial Day. The day was warm and sunny. We drove the historic highway 30. We went to Women's Forum area for a nice view of Columbia River. We stopped by Vista House. We saw the different falls. For lunch, we dined and had a good... More

Lovely area with lots of great waterfalls and views of the river. Parking at some can be a challenge at peak times

My recommendation is to take hiway 30. Wild flowers & ferns abound. Majestic waterfalls just off the road. There are plenty of photo opportunities... Enjoy 😊

we have driven through the gorge dozens of times and it never ceases to amaze us. especially when coming in from eastern oregon/washington and seeing the green lush vegetation. this is an absolute MUST-see one of the splendors of our beautiful country. even if you only drive through, and do the little historic byway that drives by a few waterfalls.... Drove from Portland to Hood River with stops at Multnomah Falls and Vista House. Absolutely gorgeous scenery!

Beautiful scenic area. Instead of the freeway, drive Old Highway 30 and you can see about 8 waterfalls. Bring appropriate clothing, since it rains often, but don't let the weather stop you from see the sights.

I have been through here several times but the spring is the best time, I think. The skies are clear the new grass so green and all the wildflowers ares to striking. If you have time try to visit Rowena Crest and the Tom McCall Nature Preserve. It is an easy walk about with a great view.

Green, green and more green! Clean, crisp air and breathtaking views. You have to hike and see the many falls along the highway 30 bypass

Flower bloom was about a month late this year. Timing was perfect for us. More lupine this year than last. Weather, more or less, cooperated. It was a great trip with many nice pics.

We also took a waterfall tour which was excellent. We drove from Portland to the Cascade Dam and then drove the other side the next day. There is just so much beauty to see and places to stop. The rock formations are spectacular, the vistas overwhelming and the river is always luring. The Gorge is an awesome place.
