Amazing place for windsurfing!!!

The views of the forest are amazing. This is a great place to go windsurfing to too. There are several places to go hiking to and some waterfalls that you can raft in.

Drive the historic Highway 30 and enjoy the view. We took our time and stopped frequently. Wonderful!

My husband were on a two week road trip in our Audi S6 and left the funnest section of road for the end! Historic highway 30 had a surprise around every corner, some of them were hairpin turns! This highway had everything to offer: breath-taking views of the Columbia River, spectacular waterfalls, gorgeous hikes, and endless photo ops. From Bend,... More

the Dalles Interpretive museum was awesome. Allow at least two hours to see all four areas. Learned much about development of Gorge.

If you are into simply stunning landscapes this is it. It is difficult to put into words the awesome beauty and majesty of the gorge. photos can not do it justice.

Located a short distance east of Portland the Columbia River Gorge is a MUST SEE. There are numerous waterfalls, hiking trails and viewpoints. Take Historic HWY30 for the best views and access. Remember to lock your car, hide or take your valuables if going to be away from your car for a long time.

We had looked forward to driving the Columbia River Gorge at the end of a 3-week journey through Oregon and Washington, but were disappointed. While there were some scenic waterfalls along the route, for the most part we found the drive boring and uninteresting because it lacked the geographical diversity of other places we had visited.

Beautiful drive to Hood river on historic highway above Hwy 84. Spent Halloween evening in Hood River. Two blocks of main street were blocked off and reserved for costumed trick-or-treaters, adults and children who visited decorated store fronts for treats. Very fun and some great costumes.

The drive through the gorge is spectacular. Do avoid it in the winter though due to high winds and freezing conditions. Drive each side of the river, OR and WA, if doing a round trip. Wineries, Multnomah Falls, old scenic highway, hiking trails.

Any trip to the Northwest region is not complete without at least a drive up the Columbia Gorge from Portland through Hood River and the Dalles. From an ecological perspective you pass through several different zones from valley green to high desert gold. You will pass multiple spectacular waterfalls, vineyards and orchards. There are many side paths the venture upon.... More
