The Museum is Worth Stopping For.

This was the second time I have visited. I am always amazed how much is on display for a private museum. Go, just for the museum. I have looked into most of the rooms and not... read more

The meal was not good..very high priced and the old musty smell.. Was really wanting the feel of history. Had been there back in 70's and it had a wonderful chef then. And we enjoyed it then...the old bldg has been many things n historical

I have been to many hot springs and have never paid as much as I did here; $25/hr. There was no one watching my time limit, so it caused me no stress. Soaking in tubs is well worth the amount they ask. Tubs were clean, hot and well kept. If the price was more reasonable, more people would likely visit... More

The restoration is coming along nicely. But I had no idea how gigantic a collection of artifacts was on display. Unbelievably great.

This place is way to spendy. This is La Grande, not Portland. Highly disappointed with their rates to soak in the tubs as well. It's like $20 per person for an hour soak!!! That is just crazy! I feel they would get more business if prices were lowered...not worth the time.

I especially like the bronze castings. The owners had to completely restore a hotel that was almost a total loss. Windows were broken. It's part of Oregons history that few people knew about even Oregonians like me. I'm going again in September.

Decorated in VERY poor taste. Too much about the Manuel's and not enough about the properties history. NOT rustic, just dirty. Staying-visiting the Overlook Hotel from the movie, 'The Shining' would have been more fascinating and it's not even a real place. If I was a ghost trapped in there I'd be pissed to be stuck in such poor standards:... More

The place is a labor of love and is being restored. Don't expect marble countertops and 2016 furnishings. That's not what this place is about. It's about a group of people trying to restore a piece of history. The place has its share of creaks, hot water faucets that dispense cold water and cracks and chips in the walls. That's... More

Hot Lake offers a very interesting historical tour of the old building and natural hot springs. What was once a hospital, sanitarium, and hotel there are many stories to be told. There is also a place to camp near by.
