Emerging from the Oswald State Park rainforest trails, you come upon Short Sands Beach. A very large cove sheltered by steep cliffs and white sand. It was quite a vista and deceptively large. The creek cuts through the middle of the beach area from the...More

When we visit the northern Oregon beaches, Short Sands Beach is always on the menu. The forested large pathway to the Short Sands cove and beach is nature at it's best.

Visited this beach this afternoon. Perfect weather for the trip. Nice scenic trails for the walk down to the cove. The beach itself was beautiful. Not crazy busy. Lots of surfers to watch. Beach was clean and well kept!

This is our second time at this beach and we went at low tide, so much better as you can see the tide pools over by the waterfall. Perfect for packing a lunch and relaxing watching the waves.

Interesting beach with surfers and people who wanted to experience the walk through the woods. A favorite of ours.

This beach is a great introduction to the PNW. walk down a trial filled with old growth forest and emerge onto a stunning beach with an active surfing community. A must if you're in the area.
