Great Day hike

Fun medium level hike up to the Lower Table Rock. Good trail but uphill all the way. Good parking lot. Not much to do once you get to the top since it is covered with lava rock.

This is an awesome hike for any age. Its a little steep so if you have a stroller or carrying a little one it might take you a hair longer. The views are worth it.

Both upper and lower table rock are worth a visit. The hike is moderate for both. When you get to the top of lower table rock you have a 5 minute hike to the edge. You wont be disappointed with the views

The hiking is not too difficult, even for someone as out of shape as I am. The view from the top is lovely. A great place to enjoy a sunny day in winter or early spring.

Both Table Rock hikes are easy to get to. Upper Table Rock is a 2.8 mile round trip with a 720 foot elevation gain, Lower Table Rock is a 780 foot elevation gain and is about a 3.5 mile round trip. Don't let the numbers fool you, just about anyone can do it. While they are not wheelchair friendly, even... More

Upper and Lower Table Rocks loom over the middle section of the Rogue River north of Medford and not far from Interstate 5, rising some 800 feet from the flatlands below. The twin flat-top formations are the eroded remains of ancient lava flows. They take their not-very-original name from their profile, which looks like a giant lopped off the tops... More

I have hiked both table rocks several times over the years by myself as well as with my children as they grew. The hikes vary a small amount depending on which mountain you choose to climb. I wouldn't recommend it for those with very young children that tire easily or if you are expecting a flat hike. Each take between... More

Just moved to Medford OR and explored Lower Table Rock. I found it to be very challenging to get to the top. It was a rainy and cold day but I made it. Also saw bluebirds, and yellow rumpled warblers at the beginning of the trail. Plan on returning again for more birding and hiking! Lots of runners, hikers and... More

If you have not done this hike. JUST DO. The spring time in May, is a perfect time. Make your favorite sandwiches, fruit, cheese, chips, maybe a bottle of wine, or, what you enjoy! and a couple waters. Park your car at lower parking lot, pack up for the trail @ 10am. You'll be having lunch from the top @ 11:30a,... More
