My kids went to Portland Aquarium on a field trip. They enjoyed being able to stick their hands in some of the pools and touch the sea life. Also, the bird sanctuary was wonderful. My kids got to hold some birds on their hands and...More

PROS: Great staff, seems like they are all college students with studies in the area of marine life. They are friendly and happy to answer any questions you have. Price is very cheap for admittance. Cute and Quaint aquarium. CONS: Located in old office or...More

This place is gone. Don't include it in your plans! Going to become a Goodwill Store! If this is the kind of stuff you like, take a drive to Seaside for a traditional old beach town attraction. If you have the time, don't the Oregon...More

I was pretty surprised by this place. Most of the tanks are open and you can touch a lot of the animals, including ones that would normally be protected or at least supervised at another aquarium. There were no staff or volunteers monitoring the exhibits,...More

Just a fun event to do with children. It's a touchy feely feed the animals kind of aquarium. It's a different concept and great for kids to get out and learn something new. There are several of these similar places but a ways away, Vegas....More

Let's start with its very very small. More like an exotic pet store where you can feed most of the pets. The offer several "encounters" for additional fees, but when we inquired we were told they were too short staffed? The rooms are small at...More

I'm kind of amazed this place is open. The tanks are small and dirty, the floors are sopping wet, and the animals are swarmed with children "feeding" them. Was left feeling sad for the animals. Save yourself the $10 and take your kid to PetSmart...More

Yes the floors can get wet at times from all the stingrays splashing and being excited to interact with people. It is an experience that is beneficial to both the stingrays and humans. Our tanks are well over capacity for each animal that calls it...More

There are nice exhibits of fish, birds and other creatures. But this is not one of the best aquariums I have visited. It seems to be aimed at young children. As an adult I was bored. I probably will not visit again.More

The Portland Aquarium is a hands on aquarium where we give opportunities for learning and inspiration you would not find at larger aquariums. Most large aquariums are geared towards "looking" at animals and that is all you get. We hope on your visits here you...More

This was a "WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE" for my husband, our daughter, and our 4 grand children. We've been to Sea World in California, a huge aquarium in Hawaii, and the Oregon Coast Aquarium previously. This was soooo much fun. We got to pet, and feed soooo...More

Having been to a few aquariums, this one feels like a tourist trap. They do have a lot of different sea creatures as well as birds, reptiles, and some mammals. There are lots of opportunities to feed the rays, sharks, and other fish. There was...More

We are glad to see your kids had a wonderful time. Our aquarium sets the preset to "Awaken your inner child" and have fun with your children. All of our habitats are to regulation size or beyond, and we clean daily so there are not...More
