Part of a 13 day roadtrip around the PNW, the Columbia River Gorge via the Historic Highway was a definite highlight. Since this is such a well-traveled and easily accessible area, I was honestly expecting to be disappointed. I was not. We left our Portland...More

The twin tunnels is an easy hike from the east side. The path is paved and although getting to the tunnels from the parking lot is uphill, you have several opportunities to stop along the way and look at the views and take pictures. It...More

You must do this 2/3 hour drive on any Oregon road trip. It was our highlight. The historic vista house, farm stands, dramatic water falls and beautiful scenery start to finish.

This Historic Highway 30 is drop dead gorgeous! It's filled with waterfalls, some of which you can see from parking lots and others you need to hike to. A lot of the people whizzing by on 84 probably never guess that paralleling 84 is a...More

Full of history and beauty, great views for the Columbia river. Its amazing how they built roads on the side of a mountain back in the day. Not to be missed!!

In anything close to good weather, the old Columbia River Hwy is spectacular. It's jaw dropping. Sunsets will remain in your mind and heart for a very long time. Workmanship on the highway is stunning.

Beautiful scenic drive with plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy the scenery. The old highway is curvy and it's much slower driving than staying on 84 but if you have the time, it's definitely worth it.

Some reviewers seem to think this is the historic highway you drive on. No -- this is the abandoned section of that highway between Mosier and Hood River that you can hike on and enjoy the views without competing with cars. A bit tricky to...More
