Many Presidential homes don't survive, so it's always wonderful when one is preserved and open for public tours. This site gives insightful tours of the home where President Hoover spent most of his adolescent years. It doesn't contain as many original artifacts to Hoover's time...More

It was very interesting to see the restored pioneer Quaker home built in 1881. The inside of the house gave a good indication on how life was.

While this is a modest house, the history is fascinating. Those of us who associate President Hoover only with the depression will learn a lot. He was a true exemplar of the American Dream. Definitely worth a stop while in Newberg.
