We have stayed here 7 times since 2008 and love it equally each stay. The campground is large but well maintained with excellent rangers and hosts. A small welcome center with a host and info and free coffee welcomes you. Firewood and icecream for sale....More

Beautiful campground with clean bathrooms and nice showers close to the beach. We had a nice spot, quiet, with electric and water hook ups. Definitely recommend. Only thing was there were 3 signs indicating the campground was full when there were quite a few spaces...More

I utilized the $6 hiker biker sites recently and found them conveniently located to the park entrance, bathrooms, visitor center (which has complimentary coffee and sells ice cream bars as well as books and other items) and the beach. Aside from having my bike's dynamo...More

My family and I stayed at this State Park on Jul 15-19, 2017 and if O had a choice between other campgrounds online and such, I wouldn't stay here again. It's "doable" of you're not spending any time at your campsite and we didn't drive...More

This wasn't one of our favorite state parks. It's in a great location and that was the part we did like, but what we didn't like is how crowded and noisy it is and how close the sites are together. We are used to having...More

I made a reservation for two nights but stayed only one. Positive was that the campground is near the beach. Negative includes pretty much everything else. Generally RV campers don't mind being packed like hotdogs but tent campers generally prefer more space. Tent sites are...More

The beach is very close to Newport, yet is secluded and out of the way. The beach is great all-around.

Nice paved trailer sites, miles of paved campground loops, and paved trails and roads to the beach for the kids to ride bikes. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. Also offered daily ranger-led nature programs for the kids.

After reading many reviews...my husband and I decided upon this campground for our kids (2 & 5) first camping trip. We felt it was perfect due to the fact that it's right outside of Newport, with various attractions, shopping, and general activities so close by,...More

In June they were terribbbbble! We actually changed our site away from the "water/trails" as they were so bad. It's camping though,, and it will fluctuate depending on weather and time of year

There are no deluxe yurts at South Beach; all are classified as "rustic". They all include a futon, bunk bed, table and chairs, electrical outlets, lights, and a heater. Outside, the site includes a picnic table, fire ring... More
