Stopped by to see the sea lions by sunken gardens This time of year parking is not a problem Just follow the sounds to the area where they haul out onto the docks provided to them

Make sure you walk down and enjoy all this harbour has to offer. There are some great bars, cafes and shops to enjoy. It is also the perfect place to stroll and relax and if really fit walk to the magnificent bridge.

Very busy lots of people and dogs. Parking can be tight. but if you drive past the shops you can find parking that is an easy walk on level ground. If you don't mind lots of people, the shop's and gallery's have lots of items...More

Great restaurants, sea lions, fishing boats and great views. Worth a long stroll. Lots of activity in season. Authentic commercial fishing.

You can drive down to Bay Blvd. from 101 right at the north end of the bridge. It's a fun conglomeration of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, a wax museum, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Mo's and Mo's Annex (on water). Adequate free parking on street...More

Great place to walk, to view the bay and the sea lions, to smell the smells (for better or worse!), to shop the shops, to eat in the funky little restaurants (including not just one, but two "Mo's"). Parking is always a little tricky, but...More

This area of Newport should not be missed. It has walking areas to see the bay, the main street is filled with shops and restaurants, and fisheries.

The historic bay front of Newport reminds me of Monterrey, California back in the good old days before it got crowded with high zoot waterfront inns and hotels. There's an active fish processing plant, the usual smattering of tourist traps such as "Believe It Or...More

Starting at the commercial boat docks across from Local Ocean, wandering around the boats, then down Bayfront Drive. Nice walk with kids, lots to see. We chose not to go in shops and spend money. All the fishing activity and sea lions kept the kids...More

We stopped at the Rogues Restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised. Since it was during Spring break, it was quite busy so we sat at the bar. I’m glad we did! I have never seen so many beer taps! My husband and I chose different...More

There are at least two docks on the north side of the bay (where the sea lions congregate) where you can fish and crab.

I also saw people with fishing gear on the pier. I would sure check the local laws or risk a fine and confiscation of your stuff. Google would be a good start.
