We enjoyed our visit even though we did not tour the inside of the lighthouse. The views of the coastline were spectacular.

I went to see the beautiful lighthouse, but was amazed by the natural area in the rocks below. The tidal communities were so much fun to explore and the rangers were great at answering all sorts of questions.

We like lighthouses so this was worth a drive by, but we did prefer Yaquina Head lighthouse on the other end of Newport better because it had a nice interpretive center and better whale watching views.

The BLM tour gude did a good job portraying the lives of lighthouse workers and their job keeping the light on. It was most enjoyable.

This was an interesting stop both for the beautiful setting and the self guided tour of the keepers' family quarters. There is also a small gift shop.

Nice little walk up to the place with great view if not foggy. The Beach below is great walk and you practically have it to yourselves

The lighthouse is of the style that combined the keeper's house with the lighthouse and it's open to visit. Some period pieces show how the family lived and worked.

There is a link for reserving time for the tours. There is no cost per se for the tour after the $7/car fee for park entry. Please do internet search for Yaquina Head lighthouse tours. Site won't let me post directly for... More

It says open daily on their web site but it would be hard to believe that it is open in Christmas. It appears it would be open during the rest of break.
