this is a sheltered memorial near Yaquina Bay To ask me to rate a memorial is like asking to rate whether the graves in a cemetery were properly aligned

a very simple and sincere memorial to local fishermen, I was moved and thought deeply (for me) about the reality of the impact on the small coastal city

I stumbled upon this memorial while walking through the park. It was touching and caused me to reflect on the danger faced by those who are in the fishing industry. It was humbling to read the names and see the photos of the fishermen.

Interesting to view, if you are into that kind of thing. Mostly this place is awesome because of its location to Nye Beach and just about everything is within walking distance. There is a great park and the preforming arts center across the street, a paved path to the beach, a short walk to historic hotels and buildings, eclectic mix... More

While visiting the park during a rain storm, my wife and I sought shelter in the sanctuary. How fitting it was to be reminded of those who couldn't reach sanctuary during storms at sea. This would be a nice place to have memorial services and other activities that provided a chapel-like setting with permanent benches, etc.

Happened upon this Memorial as I was walking through the state park. It is a very nice building, chapel like, to remember the fishermen who have lost their lives at sea.

An honor to all of the fishermen who have given their lives to feed all of us and their families. Worth a stop.

We were taking our morning walk and came upon the memorial. Inside there are wooden benches with plaques with names of some of the fisherman lost at sea. There is a large black stone memorial with a list of names of fisherman who lost their lives while at sea. It also marks the names of fisherman who's remains were recovered.... More

This is a moving experience to see this memorial to local fishermen who gave their lives to do what they loved. While television programs like "Deadliest Catch" show the excitement of the fishing industry, this memorial reminds us of how dangerous it really us and how dedicated these people are to risk their lives every day to feed their families...
