Just amazing to see, the Willamette River Falls over giant rocks spread all the way across the river and at the bottom 100 years ago, they built a mill, used the water to power it. At this site across the river they also built locks to raise boats up to the top level of the river. If you come to... More

Not much to do other than look. Easy pull off and view. Best time is when the river is high and a lot of water is flowing. Pull off on I205 North for a East view and Hwy 99E for a West view.

The Willamette Falls has so much significant here in Oregon City. It is the 2nd highest volume in the US. The changing season and the respective volume are always an attraction. The bridge, the observation point, and the path under the bridge are great ways to view.

Make sure you see it from Oregon City side by stillmans pub on 99E. I think the only other falls that spills more water is Niagara Falls. It's really speculation in the spring when the water is high

Willamette Falls is a horse-shoe shaped falls located near the southern entrance to Oregon City. It is about 1,500 feet wide and 40 feet high. And goes way back in Oregon history. Indians fished here. Lewis & Clark mentioned it. And Industry built up around it. You can view it from several viewpoints but you can't actually get right up... More

We love visiting waterfalls in the PNW. This is an easy to find waterfall-just take the elevator to the top and walk about 1/2 a mile. You can only see the top of the waterfall-there is no view point to see the falls "face to face". But still very cool!

Beautiful place to visit at any time of the year! It changes all the time. We stop often and love to just stand and watch the falls.

Started out later than we could have- but still got to see the magnificent falls up the historic highway. Lots of great look out spots and generally easy parking. It was great to be able to jump on the freeway after dark and take it back to Portland, instead of winding through the 2 lane highway.

This is where it all started for a lot of Oregonian families. this is where my great grandfather and a lot of other good people worked in the mills on the river. where generations of Native Americans worked and lived. There is an amazing amount of history that can be learned here. For years ships went through the locks with... More

If you're' in the neighborhood, pull over and have a look. Although the falls aren't quite the record height as hyped on the placards (Google it...), they are still worth a look. You park across the street and walk through a tunnel under the highway to access them. You can stand at the base for a fantastic view or climb... More
