Taking the guided tour was very informative & lengthy. Kind of reminded us of going into our old musty basement for 90 minutes. You must like "OLD" history, and not be sensitive to dim, smelly and unkept areas. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and...More

We visited the Pendelton area and only had a day to take in the attractions. We chose the underground tour and we were both completely enthralled by the history of the town and the tour itself. Alexander's Chocolate Classics is directly above the tour at...More

I can't even tell you how long the tour lasted, I was so engrossed in all the sights and stories of Pendleton underground. Once we met our guide (who was very knowledgeable and able to answer each question), we saw a very brief video and...More

The tour covers almost 100 years of Pendleton history, from underground Chinese opium dens and laundries of the early 1900’s to the speak easys’ during prohibition to the USO during WWII. Above ground are the bordellos recreated as they actually looked when still in operation....More

We took this tour last September when we attended the Pendleton Round-up. It was so informative and interesting to learn the history of Pendleton concerning the Chinese, etc. Great guide.

We had a great tour guide - Jackie. She worked the tour while in college and 20 years later she's back. And boy, does she know her stuff. She entertained us for nearly 2 hours and there wasn't a moment where it dragged. We had...More

Visiting the Pendleton Underground is a must if you are visiting Pendleton. Learning about how this used to be was fun and exciting. The tour itself is not for anyone that has dust allergies or those have mobility issues (stairs and tight corridors). All and...More

We enjoyed our stay in Pendleton, and the Pendleton Underground Tour was great. It gave a glimpse into several periods of Pendleton history. Our tour guide did a nice job, and there were many artifacts from different time periods. I would suggest adding more photographs...More

Very engaging 2 hour trip through time. Loved it and highly recommend. The content rangers from salon stories, to working girl gossip, and the harsh realities facing Chinese immigrants at the time. Our history it's a little sordid, but the compilation is well put together.

Book ahead for this without a doubt, if you don't you probably won't get lucky! It takes a good 2 hours to do the tour, lots of steps, slopes and rough ground to cover. We had Cindy as our guide and she was a mine...More

As the others have said - no it isn't heated in the winter but should be warmer than outside at this time of year. We went in the summer and it was cool in Pendleton's Underground.
