Sprinkled along the Oregon coastline are some of the most scenic lighthouses in the world. But Cape Blanco Lighthouse stands out not just because it is on the very Western edge of the continent, but also because you can climb right up to the top...More

You can actually climb all the way to the top. Amazing views from up there. Very windy there, so you might want a light windbreaker. If you can't handle stairs, you can still enjoy it from the outside.

$2 and you get an informative history on the lighthouse and the men women and children who worked it. The bonus of our visit is you are actually allowed all the way to the top and see the lens and light. What a treat.

This was a fun excursion and the people working there were wonderful. They shared a lot of local history and were very knowledgeable about the local community and lighthouse. Thanks!

So flipping windy... went for the tour to get out of it... not really.. that's why we were there... great history lesson. Great exercise. I'm afraid of heights so it was a challenge. OK going up... not so good going down... glad I did it....More
