This experience is reminescent of a famous residential library in England. The only thing lacking at Powells is a bed and the privilege of pursuing the shells throughout the night. It was painful to leave these millions of titles of books calling my name.

Powell's is a popular tourist destination and once you go, you will see why. The store (which is pretty much a shopping mall of books) has something for everyone. Sections are well laid out: kids, computers, bestsellers, sci-fi, etc. And they have several other non-book...More

For full disclosure we are a family of bibliophiles. We all loved Powell's and could easily have spent far more time than the couple of hours that we had browsing it's many aisles. We found the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful, the selection...More

Came in for a quick look and before we knew it, an hour was gone. Found a Plato our college daughter needed for $2.95. Great prices
