During a very hot day of Portland, we got there. It is quite and beautiful and you can enjoy the nature in the middle of a city. Woods are gorgeous and well maintained trails are interesting. We even took the stroller through the trails!!!!!!!!!!

Visited this arboretum after being unable to park anywhere near the rose garden. The arboretum is large, and most of the trees are labelled. There is some wheelcahir accessibility, but it is limited. There is a good variety of trees and shrubs.

This isn't the sort of park with a few paved pathways and some plants with informative labels. In order to see the different trees and plants, you have to take one or more of the hiking trails (the shortest takes nearly an hour and does...More

Every visit to Portland must include a 5 minute walk to the "Redwood Deck." The new, or at least recent, signage is a big improvement over previous years so you cannot get lost in this forest. There are many, many more types of trees and...More

My wife happened to come across a description of the Hoyt Arboretum in one of the magazines in our hotel room and it sounded quite interesting. Even though it was drizzling that day, we have never seen such a beautiful, well-maintained arboretum. It is divided...More

My husband, dogs and I went for what would have been a short hike. But, it turns out that the place is a maze and you can spend hours upon hours hiking its trails. It's definitely a dog friendly place. I think my dogs had...More
