The World Forestry Center takes 1.5-2 hours to go through and is an interesting place to visit with kids! It's situated in the SW part of Portland and exhibits are geared toward all ages! It's s great place to visit to get out of the rain which is likely in the winter or spring! A half day of pleasure for... More

The museum is not very big, but what they do have is very nicely displayed. Displays cover everything from wildlife, to recreation, to management and use of forest products. There is a small theater that shows a short film about how forests are managed. The second floor covers forest around the world. I learned how other countries manage their forests,... More

Our whole family loved this place (AAA discount!). Beautiful building and exhibits are fantastic. The upstairs is the best part (for me). Great international perspective on the importance and meaning of forests. Visitors go on a train ride through Russia, a jeep ride through Africa, etc. Really great. We will return.

Great place to go for couple hours when the Portland weather is too cold for your young ones. Went there with our 6 months, 4 years old and 7 year old. $24 total. Spent 2 hours and got to enjoy the cozy pace of the place. There isn't much to do, but that is what is so special about it.... More

This museum is incredible and engages all ages with the multitude of hands on exhibits and the many informational displays. They must have spent many hours developing these exhibits for everyone's enjoyment and it shows! In te future I would love to bring young children here to watch them explore and learn about the importance of the different forests around... More

I figured Oregon is known for the environment and I should check this out. It is better suited to elementary school kids learning about the trees I think. They have some virtual live experiences such as "riding down the rapids" where they take your photo with a screen behind you. I forgot to pick up my photo on the way... More

The museum has a children friendly approach toward showcasing what forest are like. They use videos that are shown in an interesting way with props. You have a truck you sit in to watch one video. Sit in a boat-like area to was a video related to water. You have a few tree trunk cross sections to show the tree... More

A great place to learn about the forest. Many interactive exhibits. The art work on the walls and outdoor area are very nice. I could go again as there was so much to see and do.

The world forestry center was very interesting. I think it was geared towards younger children, though. My husband and I did check it out but we didn't stay very long there were a lot of interactive things for children to do.

Visited with three kids, 6, 11 & 14. The place felt very dated, with malfunctioning and dusty displays. All screens suffered from either bad focus or old projector lamps and the more interactive parts have all seen better days. Not worth the money.
