Got to the front door that the pictures show but it’s completely empty inside. There’s a historic plaque on the outside of the building talking about it’s history but that’s about it :(

Very creative approach, for wierd creative minds. Tom Richards, the owner, is a very cool dude for doing this. Gotta appreciate the way he tried to sneak a little piece of fiction into the real world.

This museum is not even there anymore. So don't waste your time, but if you're already right there just go to the Chinese Garden, very pretty!

The current exhibit is a throwback to a non-digital age. Wacky and wonderful! We typed on a manual typewriter - memory lane for me, new experience for others. A piano with sound-effects rather than notes. Notes from visitors. Visitors receive prizes. Prized wooly mammoth ant...More

What a wonderful find in Portland. An interesting collection of collections! I laughed out loud reading notes that were found in libraries, I was grossed out by the beautiful jars of finger nails and I got to play a keyboard of awesome recorded sounds. Then...More

So this is either the 2013 version of "how to separate a fool and his money" OR a work of conceptual art, OR a way for a retired librarian to meet people from out of town. Not really sure. Not sure it matters. The displays,...More

The Faux Museum is many things; it is part gallery, part history, part comedy with a bit of community center good feeling to hold it all together. It has a nice little shop and a friendly curator to welcome you. Be sure not to miss...More
