Nicely preserved train station. Neighborhood is not the best so if you wander away from the station you will most likely be hit up by panhandlers and may see some drug deals. You are relatively safe especially during the day and there are lots of good restaurants fairly close. Food selection at the station not the greatest. Place right next... More

After walking 7 blocks in the foot of snow, the station was a welcome destination. Although we had to spend more time there than originally planned due to the train delays (nobody expected 12 inches of snow in Portland!), the time spend was pleasant, the architecture interesting, and the gift shop full of cool stuff and great snacks!

Portland is a great city to visit by rail! Even if you aren't using the train station, Wilf's is a good place to see jazz or have a meal.

Left the train here, interesting architecture. Could use a facelift or at least a good cleaning. Coldest temp in years in Portland.

We visited the Union Station just to see the architecture and relive the history of train travel of that era. It is a very interesting building, and well maintained. It is still in use and we even considered taking a train to the next stop down just for the experience. If you are interested in rail history it is worth... More

Traveling cross country on Amtrak we decided to spend a night in Portland. Portland Union Station is a decently restored historic building, While not a destination in itself it has some very interesting architecture. It is on the edge of Portland's Pearl District which makes it very convenient being within walking distance. Unfortunately the location being along the tracks and... More

The building is of days gone by........ Now it serves as a depot for transportation modes. It has more charm on the outside than on the inside.

Nice Train station it is a well maintained historic building if you like train stations, or architecture it is a place to take a look at, it isn't a long visit but you are very close to the pearl district and china town areas of NW Portland so just pick a few of the other site right around that area.

Thank Bryan L
