This is a wonderful old theater that I saw movies at 30 years ago. Now it's been well updated and shows a variety of regular and foreign films. Highly recommend it if you're in the area.

We caught "Loving Vincent" here this weekend. Our first visit. The theater isn't well staffed; just one person taking/selling tickets but no one checking for them inside the door which we thought was a bit odd. The seats (even in the small theaters) were comfortable...More

Fabulous review of the Beatles from 1960 through 1969. I was only 10 when I became aware of them in 1963. What an amazing group of musicians! It was interesting to see how they became disillusioned just because of the sheer number of there fans...More

The movie selections are always top notch indie features. The prices are very reasonable. The butter for the popcorn is real butter. They are located in great neighborhood for eats and drinks before or afterwards. They have their own parking lots a couple blocks away.

Not only does 21st Avenue have great restaurants and stores, it has this superb small movie theater. A really good selection of films that don't hit the majors.

Haven't been to Cinema 21 in the funky Northwest Portland area in years. The area has even more bars and restaurants filled with hipsters than I remember. Narrow shaded streets with limited parking opportunities. But Cinema 21 is even better than I remember. First run...More

Went to the Sound of Music Experience to sing along, hiss the Baroness, and wave our Eidelwiess. Silly and fun. Like Mystery Science Theatre with singing and a good movie. Comfortable, well-spaced seating, clean space, cheap popcorn, wine and beer. Free parking 3 blocks to...More
