The Oregon state Capitol building is simply stunning. The marble inside and out really adds to the beauty. But one of the shining stars really all of the hand painted artwork and historical items shown around the building.

It's worth a visit. It was interesting to see then legislative chambers, the rotunda is pretty. It was not at all crowded when we were there. Very well-kept grounds, friendly people and a great gift shop! 👍

There is metered parking on the north, south and west sides of the capitol. It's a little hard to find when legislators at in session.

Is there a public restroom around the Capitol grounds that is open on the weekends?

The rest room on the main floor is open when the building is open. Generally it's closed on the weekends. The closest otherwise is McDonalds.
