Lovely Theater

Intimate venue with beautiful architecture and restoration. Seats are comfortable and are tiered so that everyone has a great view of the stage. The acoustics are good as well.

Great place to watch silent or vintage films. The building and gothic decor is really lovely, make sure you go upstairs and check out the stainglass windows.

We have been to many events at the Elsinore Theater. It's a local jewel, and the community has done an excellent job supporting its renovation. I will not stop going, but it will be with a degree of concern. Last night we attended a presentation by a television personality. This is not a review of that individual; this is a... More

Outstanding Theater, Live stage, large classical music venue, also classic movies; silent movies with the mighty Wurlitzer must be experienced. Beautiful restoration, good acoustics. Only issue I wish the seats were a bit larger.

This iconic theater brings back the beauty of the past. It looks like it did in it's heyday. Every month there are plays, movies, musicals and other entertainment that brings out the best of the past and the present.

It is wonderful that Salem's "fathers" had the insight to save the Elsinore Theatre. It has great history and beautiful history.

The Elsinore Theatre has been lovingly restored to its vaudeville glory. The seats are comfortable, the mezzanine is pure luxury, and the sound is wonderful in this space. Stained glass and art deco abound in this wonderful old theatre. I have spent many hours in this place hearing and seeing wonderful entertainment. It's in the heart of downtown Salem.

I went to see a classic film at the Elsinore and really enjoyed the experience. Recommend sitting upstairs for best leg room. Ushers were helpful in directing visitors and helping people get seated. Good sound system.

The Elsinore is like stepping back into a time when stars like Gable and Flynn ruled the screen. The acoustics are great and the lobby are breathtaking! The Elsinore is a perfect venue for a smaller concert (Bryan Adams Bare Bones tour stopped by, it was amazing!) or an old time movie with the mighty Wurlitzer Organ shaking the seats.... More

Built in 1926, the Elsinore was -- and remains -- a delightful architectural wonder and a superb venue for a variety of entertainment events. After an early period which featured everything from silent movies to vaudeville acts to musical comedy, the theater fell into neglect and disrepair and by the early 1980s was almost demolished. Fortunately a grass roots movement... More
