This a pretty cool history museum that much better on the inside than the outside. It would be of interest to travelers on I-5 and also folks staying at the historic Wolf Creek Inn at nearby Wolf Creek, OR.

This place was terrible in much need of general repairs wagons broken down not at all taken care of. We did like the gentleman that gave us our tour. The owner is more about the money the place brings in than preserving local history.

This center sits right on the first land claim in the County. Next to it is one of the few remaining covered bridges which spans Graves Creek - the site of the grave of a young girl who did not survive the covered wagon ascent...More

Am not sure why it's always closed and it does look abandoned. Like many relics that aren't kept up folks should either do something about their attraction or at least give it some upkeep to keep away rats and the tall weeds to become an...More

The unassuming exterior of this place could easily lead a person passing by to underestimate the value of a visit to this place. The museum is a privately owned and curated labor of love, built in large measure from family history and heirlooms. Its displays...More

Are you one of those travelers who zips down the highway from Point A to B, without taking the time to check out some of the small, roadside attractions? Well don't be! You would miss out on so many neat things, like this little family-operated...More

I was ready to pull off the 5 for a nap, and instead I dropped in to this privately run museum. I really made the right choice! I was lucky to be there when the proprietor, who told me she financed the museum years ago...More

You pull up and it looks abandoned on the outside, with an oldtimer sitting out front. I thought to myself, is this worth going in?? Well was I wrong, the old guy turned out to be ninety one and a descendant of the original homesteaders....More

The brown freeway signs of historical sites are often just driven past. Well If you ever wanted to stop at one, this is the one. The staff was very informative and the movie about the Applegate Trail was very good. The display items really take...More

This is an excellent museum that tells the history of the Applegates and their trek across the country, as well as this part of Oregon. It houses a large collection of artifacts, as well as a museum quality screening room with a short video that...More

Driving along I-5, a sign on the freeway for a covered bridge caught my eye. Thinking this would be a nice rest spot, I pulled off for some time off the road. Right next to the bridge, the authentically "western" facade, complete with covered wagons,...More

It was $5 each for adults when I visited; I don't know if they offer any discounts. I'm guessing it's the same, but it's possible that it's changed!
