What a gorgeous hike along the Deschutes River to Benham Falls. A well maintained, easy trail awaits you. The falls are spectacular demonstrating the fury of water. The whole image is even better when you include the setting that it is set in. Such beauty!

What a beautiful and awe spring thing to see! One of the highlights of our trip for sure! Turned a disappointing trip, due to fires and other issues, into something worthwhile to see.

Just an easy and beautiful three mile walk or bike ride from Sunriver. The path is paved most of the way except the last half mile. No need to be experienced hiker or biker, very flat path. Trialhead is just off of Circle 7.

The falls are absolutely breath taking. The power and beauty are unparalleled to any falls in the area. As I watched the falls at the look out tears ran down my face. I realized only GOD could make anything so powerfull and beautiful. Man has...More

This is part of the 10-mile long Deschutes River Trail, all flat/gravel bikeable. There is a couple-mile paved trail to trailhead from Sunriver (look for signs on north end of resort/map directing to "Benham Falls"). Or you can park at "East Benham Falls Trailhead" a...More

We hiked from the canoe pickup spot in Sunriver so our hike was longer than if you go to Lava Lands and pick up the trail there. It took us a little over an hour one way, but it led us to the Lava Lands...More

Easy walk to the Falls many people on bikes. Pretty setting. The Falls were more like a large rapid then a vertical fall but a nice experience

Hike the paved path which takes you almost all the way to the falls, and return on more scenic non-paved trail. Beautiful scenery and a great way to spend 3-4 hours. Just be careful on the paved section as bikers pass with out warning. Bikers,...More

Although we tried to walk the trail last week, there was a train stalled at the crossing, so we were unable to complete our plan. However, we did take trails from the Lava Lands Center up Lava Butte and had beautiful views... More

I would not recommend trying to visit the falls in the winter. The roads are not plowed for access to the falls. Years ago I tried and almost got stuck in the snow.

Mostly it's popular enough that people keep dogs leashed. In the offseason I often let him off.
