We take this hike often. You need a trailhead pass to park in the parking lots. There are two parking locations, one down the hill from Lava Lands and one closer to the falls accessible from Century Drive. The passes can be purchased there for $5.00. You may need a pen or pencil to fill out the permit. The dirt... More

Even in November the falls were spectacular. We have had unusually warm weather so a walk to the falls was lovely.

Dogs must be leashed on parts of this trail. Cliffs and gorgeous lava rocks. I recommend for kids and adults. Very steep and then flat in sections. Many river views along the way.

Worth every bit of the walk. We had the trail to ourselves in the early evening -- excellent! I think these photos speak for themselves!

We started from the road outside the lava lands visitor center. An easy .5 miles to the falls (more like Rapids). Great view of the fall leaves against the lava on the other side of the river. You can also drive through bend to get to it, start the hike for an additional mile or so from sunriver, or even... More

A good walk or an easy bike ride. Not falls in the true sense but worth the effort in the end.Path is flat and easy walking, plenty of shade.

Beautiful scenery all along the easy trail. Perfect day for a hike. Popular for hikers, runners, trail bikes, it was busy but never felt like too many people. Good time of year for no mosquitoes.

we parked at the top and took trail down to falls. It's absolutely beautiful!! I think it was a little over one mile to the falls, but you get to see the water nice and calm in the beginning then it start picking up until you reach the rushing falls. Well worth it!

We took the half mile walk to the falls. You could have driven straight to the falls, but the walk was beautiful. It was very easy walking along the river and you could see the rapids building. The falls is not really a falls; it's more of a rapids. But it didn't disappoint. There are many photo opportunities.
