Pretty area to stop as you explore the coast. At low tide there is plenty of tide pools and rocks to explore along the oceanfront. On high tide the water gets pretty rough but makes for more dramatic churning and sounds in Devil's Churn. Bathrooms and a park information booth located at this stop. They ask for a $5 daily... Best to come when the tide is higher for a better show but even when not peak, this place is awesome. Fun to explore and watch the ocean meet the land with all it's might. Steep but pretty manageable trail to the rocks where they meet the ocean. Small parking fee is to be paid and they do have a... More

We hiked down to Devil's Churn on our trip down the Oregon coast. The hike is relatively easy. Be careful on the slippery rocks once you get down there. The ocean is magnificent.

Like watching a giant washing machine as the ocean rolls and churns. This is a unique location to watch the brutal power of the ocean in relative safety. Just remember that the wave pattern is not predictable and stay safe.

Watching the water go into a deep and weathered crack in the coastline cliff was hypnotic and exciting at the same time. The steps and trail to get down close to the churn is steep and a bit slippery, but a short walk. Easy parking and nice loop trail. Good for a short visit before exploring longer trails around the... Oh man, the power of the ocean. Incredible. Get a tide book and go at high tide. The visitors center is staffed with passionate people who are eager to share information. It was a nice surprise that a espresso stand is near one of the trails! Do go up the 2 mile hill, I believe it is the campground /... More

I've been to Devil's Churn several times now. Each time is different and wonderful. This is a "must see" when on the coast. Beware of the tide, as it changes quickly and is very dangerous if you are too close.

One of my favorite parts of Cape Perpetua, the Devil's Churn is an inlet where the Pacific first carved out a cave, then collapsed the roof. The result is a living testament to the power of all the waves battering the coast. During high activity, the spray really blasts out. Be safe! Watch out for sneaker waves and don't get... More

Nature's fury up close and worth the short hike. Photographs will be worth it, either rain or shine.
