Step Back In Time

Great plays at the playhouse, kids will learn a lot and it's a nice, quick step back in time without having to spend a whole day!

Very historical and educational. When you walk through the village you actually feel like you are walking through an old village during the civil war era. There were re-enactors who put on demonstrations like churning butter and one guy who was a black smith. Visitors can tour each house and see how things appeared during that era. During the summer... Unintentional stop on our way through PA, but well worth the afternoon excursion. There is a similar park in IN, Connor Prairie, so we knew a little of what to expect. I enjoyed this one a bit more, I think, just because there's more hands on and up close areas. Lots of fun, lots of walking. Maybe not the best... More

We went to the Christmas candle light event. We arrived at 630pm and there was a line out the door. There were no Christmas lights, so if you are coming for that don't. It was very crowded. We had been to the village during the day and enjoyed it much more. All of the building were not opened and the... More

Bedford Village has several old log structures. Their events include Civil War Reenactments which we loved. This is a fantastic place to visit for the entire family, all ages and is very educational.

A wonderful visit for couples and families. A walk into the towns past (pre-21st century) with staff showcasing how life may have been back then. You'll meet the shop keeper, tavern keeper, pharmacist, the potter, blacksmith and more!!! This place is a lot of fun and a great break from the Omni Hotel if that's where you're staying.

A sunny autumn Friday proved the perfect time to visit Old Bedford Village, a collection of nearly 40 salvaged or reproduced log, stone & frame Bedford County buildings dating back to the area's frontier days. Lacking the stuffy formality of most preserved museum villages, Old Bedford was both child and pet friendly. While attendance was light on the day of... More

Recreation of a late 1700's village based on Bedford, Pa. Craftsmen at work on traditional items, i.e.; blacksmith, candle maker, tinsmith. We went during the pumpkin festival with hayrides, a corn maze and other activities for kids and adults. An accurate recreation of early american life. Anyone interested in this era in history will want to visit. We pan to... More

If you enjoy the history of the early settlers in the area and what they endured to survive, this is a great place to visit. I was surprised at how many structures have been preserved and open to the public. The staff and volunteers were knowledgeable and so friendly. It is especially beautiful in the fall. I plan to visit... More

I wasn't expecting much when I pulled up, but this living history village proved to be a worthwhile visit!! The staff/volunteers were all very informative and hospitable, and the houses are marvelous. You really feel like you are stepping back in time!! The potter and the chandler (candlemaker) were my favorites. Be sure to check this out!!
