Maximum use of a relatively small facility and all of it with local connections. Major historical events are covered as well as the more mundane every day life of local people. We're glad we went.

Starting from Paleo times to the not too distant times. Great detail on French and Indian War of which we were not too conversant. The staff was very helpful. Nice gift shop too.

While not large, the displays are well done. Provides a nice, concise historical look at the Bedford area. Displays cover the early Native American period and the early arrival of European settlers. The exhibits are labeled and presented very nicely.

Interesting reconstructed fort, lot of history in that area of Bedford County PA. My mother's family was there in 1714, so we really enjoyed being in the area.

I was surprised, there is a bit to see inside the museum. This fort was used by the British during the French and Indian War. It is not the original site of the fort. They were updating inside.

This was a great little museum tucked just behind where the original fort stood and along the river. There is a little bit of everything in here telling the story of Bedford and the area from over 200 years ago up thru the mid 20th...More

Cute little museum with a lot of local history. Off the back of the museum is a small park at rivers edge that includes a small playground and grassy areas for the kids to unwind.

This museum is one of those "Bigger On The Inside" type places, as it covers over 200 years of history. The museum is divided up into three main rooms that tell the story of not just the fort but also the region's history. They renovated...More
