Beautiful and simple shrine for Saint Katharine Drexel. I didn't see anything about the grounds being sold while there, but it will be sad if they are. The Chapel is unique and was designed by Saint Katharine herself. It was very peaceful and I enjoyed the uniqueness of who it was set up so that the Sisters can see each... More

Serene setting in Philadelphia suburb. Moving displays showing the good works done by this order of Sisters and their founder Saint Katharine Drexel. An hour or two well spent.

As other reviewers note, this shrine will be closing so we were especially blessed to have visited the grounds, St Elizabeth Chapel, tomb and the Mission Center. As part of our group tour we saw a nice video show about St Katharine in the center. The Chapel was very impressive, especially the woodwork. Her tomb and the exhibits below the... More

Although we had each been here before for religious services, we decided to go again with a camera. The 1890's buildings are impressive for the architecture and grounds. A local gem which we hope is not demolished for condos. Free, open, walk in and where you wish. Recommend chapel and a walk around the back.

The Shrine and chapel are perfect places for prayer and meditation. The grounds are gorgeous. There are relics of St. Katharine on display. There's also a great cell phone audio tour available, so bring your earbuds. I'm virtually certain I saw them in the gift shop for sale if you forget them. Speaking of the gift shop, it is excellent.... More

St. Katharine's Shrine is a hidden gem! The grounds are beautiful, the Chapel is stunning and the Shrine, in general, is inspiring. You are permitted to freely walk around and absorb the history, artifacts and pray over St. Katharine's crypt. It is a special place outside of the hustle and bustle of Philadelphia. All parking is free as well as... More

This is a wonderful sanctuary in what is otherwise a busy town. Beautiful grounds, a peaceful setting and the actual burial place of St Katharine Drexel. A must for any Catholic.
