Wide array of new and used books. Building itself is interesting with lots of seating. We visited on a weekday morning so very few people there. Was hoping for more textile and fiber related books but my friend found a few to purchase at decent prices. Small coffee bar and a few pastries with surrounding area uninvitingly dirty. We found... If you want a book, this store has EVERYTHING to choose from. I visited this great bookstore whilst on my holiday to the USA. Fantastic books at fantastic prices. By the way, I visited the bookstore in 2015, but the earliest date option was June 2016.

We were excited when we saw the brochure for this bookstore- stating 100,000 second hand, out of print and scholarly books. We thought we'd spend several hours there, but ended up only being there about 45 minutes. The new books that were prominently displayed as you entered were more expensive than anticipated. They can be purchased for several dollars less... More

I had no idea how HUGE and absolutely wonderful this "bookstore" is from seeing it on the outside. It used to be a movie theater in its former life and still has the marvelous stairs and wrought iron hand railings. I wanted to stay in there for hours. There are cozy nooks for reading and relaxing while you preview the... More

I have never seen so many art books in one place! You could get lost in the history section! The store is big and clean. Lots of dreams and ideas on the shelves!

We visited the Midtown Scholar Bookstore for the first time, and were very impressed with their wide selection of books, new and used. They also have a small cafe where we had terrific homemade soup and a slice of the cake just like my momma used to make.

The outside of the bulding makes it aeem a bit small and like it wont be to big inside, but then comes the suprise when you enter. What do you see? An expansive collection of used books! The books are divided into categories and each one is clearly marked, room after room. You can also get something to drink or... More

Midtown is a huge space, old building turned into an enormous bookstore. It is divided into little rooms, some of which are very poorly lit, with tight aisles, making it difficult to see what is on the floor to ceiling shelves. The maps and sign-posting is not really well done or helpful either. I had to ask for help from... More
