Beautiful setting

The mansion tour was good for the cold rainy day it was when I was there. Stunning location right on the river. As an out of town visitor...it was worth a couple of hours.

Even on a cloudy, slightly rainy day, this place was picturesque. None of the buildings were open, but the grounds afforded many photo opportunities. Mansion is located alongside the Susquahanna River. Seemed like a nice place to picnic, as well.

Semi interesting mansion in a beautiful riverside setting. Tour guide Sally did a fine job but if you have been to a few historical mansions of this type, there really isn't anything that particularly stands out.

Fort Hunter Park has a lot of inviting features for the entire family to enjoy! Mansion tours begin in May for a small fee but my husband and I enjoyed just walking the grounds around the mansion....such a beautiful riverfront property with gorgeous architecture making this location ideal for family photos! There's comfy bench swings to cozy up with your... More

This was a special event. I had personally passed this location many times without paying any attention to it . The site offers some insight to the history of Ft Hunter and particularly the issue of slavery. We learned much on the subject and the local perspective .

We only got to drive through and look at the buildings. Very pretty area and surroundings. We like to go in some of the buildings!

We were just out to enjoy beautiful sunny day and walk. The grounds at Fort Hunter are well maintained, with many historic buildings there to either enter to see the various displays or to simply study the buildings themselves. The path along the river was being worked on while we were there but once finished it should be a very... More

This beautiful place by the river was perfectly groomed and had a peaceful setting about it. The tour guide was entertaining and very knowledgeable, I believe his name was Carl. He helped us take pictures and made our time special. There was not so much information that it was overwhelming either, questions could be asked and he did a great... More

Visited the decorated trees , craft sales and bake sales and the toy train exhibit. Mansion was open for tours with people dressed in period costumes. Park like atmosphere for picnics along the river when warmer. Playground equipment for the kids to run and play. There is a large barn used for musical performances which I have never attended.

Very interesting and well-maintained historical mansion on the Susquehanna River. Knowledgeable tour guides share a wealth of information about Ft. Hunter-great for the whole family.
