We only got to drive through and look at the buildings. Very pretty area and surroundings. We like to go in some of the buildings!

We were just out to enjoy beautiful sunny day and walk. The grounds at Fort Hunter are well maintained, with many historic buildings there to either enter to see the various displays or to simply study the buildings themselves. The path along the river was being worked on while we were there but once finished it should be a very... More

This beautiful place by the river was perfectly groomed and had a peaceful setting about it. The tour guide was entertaining and very knowledgeable, I believe his name was Carl. He helped us take pictures and made our time special. There was not so much information that it was overwhelming either, questions could be asked and he did a great... More

Visited the decorated trees , craft sales and bake sales and the toy train exhibit. Mansion was open for tours with people dressed in period costumes. Park like atmosphere for picnics along the river when warmer. Playground equipment for the kids to run and play. There is a large barn used for musical performances which I have never attended.

Very interesting and well-maintained historical mansion on the Susquehanna River. Knowledgeable tour guides share a wealth of information about Ft. Hunter-great for the whole family.

I was there late summer 2016. I had a tour of the fort hunter mansion. The tour guide was pleasant and informative. I enjoyed looking at the old house and grounds. I also toured the large old barn and another house near the barn. Following the tour I drove down the road by the second old house (on the left,... More

Went here on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised! The mansion is lovely, and has lots of history. The tour guides were well-informed, and it was genuinely a great tour!

This is a hidden jewel hidden in plain sight. I have been to their park across many times and has no idea this Mansion was open to the public. The tour guide very interesting and explained things in a way that 15 8-9 year olds were drawn to her stories. They have it kept very nicely. It's definitely worth going... More
