This hill is easily climbed having 3 routes to follow. The two from the A4 road are the shortest, the westerly one is less steep but can be very slippery descending after wet weather. The easterly one is steep at the upper section but gives lovely views once the height has been gained. The route up from the Devizes side... More

The white horse is well looked after and looks fantastic. it is a great walk with excellent views. The locals do a great job and should be congratulated. The "monument" which i believe to be in private ownership looks uncared for and,has been falling to bits for years. It is an eyesore and best ignored if you can. There is a... More

Great place to walk starting at car park about 1 mile from Avebury on the Calne road. You can do round walk to monument and back several ways. Lovely views we did it on a cold sunny frosty morning.

It's a steep walk up the hill to the top but the view and terrain at the top makes it worth the effort. It's pretty exposed up the hill so is windier than down below which makes it a great environment to fly kites with children. It's worth noting that the bottom of the hill is often very muddy so... A lovely, blustery boxing day walk to the top of the Cherhill White Horse and Monument today. The parking/entry sign where we started our walk could do with some TLC, but the walk is spectacular. A shame that the monument is currently cordoned off, but totally recognise that the National Trust can only do so much with the funding they... More

Lovely brisk winter walks and Calne nearby is very quaint. Frequently see model airplanes and par-gliders on white horse hill. Foe a more sheltered walk there is the old channel from Calne

Was staying in the area and wanted a bit of exercise. Parked off the main road and embarked on a welly walk. Well signposted with info boards and paths reasonably clear, very scenic with good views, not too strenuous.
