We came to Bewdley mainly because we wanted to visit the museum and hopefully do a walking tour. Both it and the tourist information centre were closed on Dec 28th and 29th. The town was busy, Severn Valley Railway was working, Safari Park was open, so there were lots of folks around, some like us, would have appreciated visiting the... More

Arrived a little later than intended due to our 2 year old having an unexpected mid day sleep. We rushed to the museum to arrive at the Father Christmas queue at approx 2:40 - revealed that we had made it. Only to be told that the queue was now closed. The advert said 12:30pm - til 3pm. Apparently Father Christmas... More

Thank you for taking the time to post the details of your experience at the Father Christmas event. I sincerely apologise for the way in which you and your family were treated. I visited during a recent festival. Museum leads directly off the main high street and there is no entry fee. The exhibits gave a fascinating insight to the history of this ancient town and its important historic role lying between the local forest and River Severn. The cafe toward the rear of the museum was very welcome, with enclosed picnic... More

This is a great little museum. Lots to see and do and a good little tea rooms. Spend a morning here then go and get wonderful fish and chips by the River!

Possibly the best local museum I've visited. Free; friendly staff; an absorbing and well laid out range of displays in attractive old buildings. Good gift shop with a range of attractive items. Has a cafe too but we didn't try it. If you have any interest in local history, it's a must.

Open air in some areas nice. Little museum gave an interesting background to the town. Lots to learn about.

Bewdley Museum is becoming increasingly popular. They have activities for young children to do while visiting. History about the town is exciting to learn for all ages. Lots of events throughout the year happen here which draws people in. Friendly staff and a lovely coffee shop.
